The Best Necklace ever!

Lena, my wonderful sister in law gave Kara and I necklaces for Christmas. Thursday night Kara found my necklace and wanted me to wear it. So I wore it out that night. New years day I gave Kara her necklace and she has been wearing it ever since. She loves it so much. She talks about it all the time. Kara told me that wanted me to be beautiful too. Thank you so much Lena for the best necklace ever!

Lena works for the company that makes this jewelery so I know where to get it.

Thankful Sunday 01-11-09

-Thankful for antibiotics. I have had the same sinus infection for almost a month. I am starting to feel better. I hope that the medicine I am taking with help me kick it.

-Thankful for support and motivation from family, friends, and my therapist. Getting myself this far in my weight loss and pulling myself through my emotional baggage has been really hard. I could not have done any of what I did without it and Jesus Christ. We can not succeed with anything in this life without trusting in Jesus Christ to help us in all we do.

-Thankful for this blog. I found it is a good way to let go of my stress and write. Rather than going to the fridge and eat. You will see more things posted more often. So come back more regularly. I've found myself posting sometimes 2-3 posts in a day if I need to.

-Thankful for my job. I've worked at Lexington Law Firm for 4 years, 3 months. This job has brought so many good things to our life. I started working from home this was right after Kara was born so I could work here and be with her. Then in December 08' they made some changes and my whole department was replaced with a machine. I then applied for a different position and started there. I now work as a paralegal. It can be stressful at times. But they make it fun. Just this last summer when the new Batman movie came out The Dark Knight my work paid for everyone to go see it. They did games and fun activities during the week. One of the games was The Biggest Batman Item. I decided with Danny permission to take all the Batman action figures he had for this game. So I had the Biggest Batman collection. Well I won. They gave me $50 in gas cards. I was very grateful at the time. Gas was so crazy. It was a life saver.

Thankful Sunday 01-04-09

My FOUR Hour project this day. I'm thankful I had the energy and desire to clean. And to spend time with my children and get something useful done.

As you can see from the pictures. My children's room is CLEAN. It took me four hours to completely clean the whole room. I would like to give you a run down of what I did.
Well before I started. Before I moved any furniture, the bookcase is now where the blue dresser is and the dresser where the bookcase is. In front of the bookcase there was piles of books all over the floor and all over under Kara's bed. Also piled with the books were empty toy boxes and some toys. I started there and clean up all the toys moved the toy boxes and then put the books in boxes. I then moved the bookcase and vacuumed. Then I cleaned all the summer clothes of Kara's off the dresser and moved the dresser. I then decided that I was going to clean under Christopher's bed and vacuum. When I pulled his bed out the children saw a dead bug. Kara said "Mom don't touch the bug it may bite you." During this whole process the children were having so much fun helping me clean. I then moved Christopher's bed back. My next process was moving Kara's bed without dropping the pile of books I put on it. Once I got the bed moved. I found a very large pile of books under her bed with toys and stuffed animals mixed in. Both children went crazy with excitement. They helped me get the books and toys cleaned up. Then in the corner of the room I noticed that there was a spider. As most of you know. I hate spiders. So I was very careful not to disturb the spider til I could get the vacuum and suck it up. The children were really good about helping me. I then vacuumed up the spider and a couple dead bugs and the children helped pick up the remaining toys. We then very carefully moved Kara's bed back and started to organize the books in the bookcase. I took out all the coloring books and stacked them on the left side of the bookcase. And any broken books or comics were placed on the right side. They had so many books I could not fit them all. I had to get rid of some they just don't read and put a few on the side of the bookcase. I then put the dresser in it's place and moved the lamp and radio to the top of the dresser. I cleaned off Christopher's dresser that was piled with summer and too little clothes. Kara then helped me change and make her bed. And I did Christopher's with Danny's help. Kara had to arrange her animals for her bed. She could not decide where she wanted them. I then did one last vacuum of the room. I was so happy with what I had done. My neighbor and wonderful friend Linda had to come down and see. She was very impressed. I went to bed exhausted.

-Thankful for my Children. For all the help they gave me. They are such wonderful children. They bring so much joy to me.

-Thankful for the distraction. My whole purpose for cleaning was they needed it. But Danny lost his coat on Saturday night. We think he left it at McDonald's when we ate dinner. I called and they said they did not find it. So to get into my closet I had to clean to see if one of my older coats was in there. No luck on the Coat. We are going to need to get Danny a new coat. He has been using my coat for his newspaper route since it has been so cold. I am so thankful for all Danny does. It is so hard for him some days to get up at 2:00am and deliver newspapers. I am so thankful for all he does to help with children and working. Thank you my wonderful Danny. I Love you so much!

Long Hair

Wow! I had long hair. Haven't seen that in 4 years.

Weight Loss Update

As of December 15th. I have lost a total of 20 pounds. I am so happy with this progress. I have had a lot of issues to work through. With the help of therapy, overeater's support group, my family and prayer. I have made it this far.

I have officially made a decision that I am going to walk/run my 5K at the Race for the Cure on May 9, 2009. I still have a lot of work to do to get ready. I told my therapist that whether I am ready or not I will crawl across the finish line if needed. Keep praying for me and supporting me how ever you can. I am grateful to you all for the support you have given me this far.

Sleeping Bliss

Today, was a joyous day. I had no where to be. I had nothing pressing to get done. It snowed so much I had no desire to leave the house. Because of this I spent the day with my children. My daughter was sick today. She wanted to just watch TV and snuggle with me. My son was just so happy to have Mommy home he was every minute wanting me to hold him. Later this afternoon Kara had decided to watch Night at the museum. She said Mom I want to watch the Elphie as a statue and then come to life. I was confused what she was talking about until she pointed out the movie. We enjoyed watching the movie together. About an hour in Christopher fell a sleep in my arms. I then noticed that Kara was asleep shortly after that. So for three blissful hours I watched my children sleep. Just relishing in being with them. I enjoyed just having them together. I was able to watch some movies I had recorded on DVR. And sit and enjoy snuggling with my beautiful children. It was such a wonderful day.

The True Meaning of Christmas.

The true meaning for our celebration on Christmas day. To celebrate Jesus Christ entering the world to fulfill his mission on the earth.

I am so grateful to have Jesus Christ in my life to be able to pray and look to him for guidance. It is most important to be reminded of his birth, life, death and resurrection. He did this for everyone. I know his life was for us to have a way to return to our Heavenly Father. I know he is our Savior. Pray to him. Put your trust in Jesus Christ. This is a lesson I am learning each day. Remember his birth. Read Luke Chapter 2.

AUDREY SAYS, HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.

DANNY SAYS, OH MERRY CHRISTMAS AND ALL THAT JAZZ!

KARA SAYS, MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

CHRISTOPHER SAYS, HO HO WHOO WHOO!

My MANTRA

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ls7ila3srzI

I was driving home last night from my Dad's house with my family and this song came on and it just hit me. I have been trying to find my mantra. I am making changes in my life with losing weight. At that moment I did with this song from Josh Groban.

JOSH GROBAN LYRICS

You Are Loved (Don't Give Up)

Don't give up
It's just the weight of the world
When you're heart's heavy
I...I will lift it for you

Don't give up
Because you want to be heard
If silence keeps you
I...I will break it for you

Everybody wants to be understood
Well I can hear you
Everybody wants to be loved
Don't give up
Because you are loved

Don't give up
It's just the hurt that you hide
When you lost inside
I...I will be there to find you

Don't give up
Because you want to burn bright
If darkness blinds you
I...I will shine to guide you

Everybody wants to be understood
Well I can hear you
Everybody wants to be loved
Don't give up
Because you are loved

You are loved
Don't give up
It's just the weight of the world
Don't give up
Every one is to be heard
You are loved

Allie

My niece Allie brings such a big smile on my face when I see her. She has such a wonderful spirit about her. A few weeks ago. Allie was sick and Amy was home with her. The day that Amy sent this picture of Allie I was having a hard day and was feeling stressed about work and some personal things in my life. Amy sent this picture and I just got a huge smile on my face and started to laugh. It was just what I needed to get me through my rough moment. With the picture she sent one sentence which explained it all.

I WANT ANOTHER BATH.

Thankful

Today I was thinking about what I am thankful for. I am so thankful for Cell phones with cameras. Here are some of the cute pictures that Danny has taken of my cute children.

These pictures have helped me through a hard day or stressful time at work.

Each time I see these pictures they bring a smile on my face.

I remember how grateful I am that I have such beautiful children and that I am blessed to have such wonderful children.

I am grateful for the love I receive each day from each of my children.

Addiction

What makes resisting temptation difficult for many people is they don't want to discourage it completely.

Franklin P. Jones

What addiction do you have?

I've been debating whether or not to post this. But I realized that the only way I can get past this 1st step is to be honest and believe what I am writing.

I have an addition to Food. It controls my life and I turn to it when I need comfort, or when I am stressed, or when I am angry, or when I just can't deal with my life. Their are a lot of things that put me in this place. My childhood, My teenage years, My discouragements, My failures. I realized that the only way I can get past all this is to put it in my past. To admit my problem and FULLY take hold of what it is doing to me.

It has taken me four months to write this. When I first decided if I was going to write this on my blog. I did not have enough faith in myself to do it. When I decided that I was going to need some help getting myself through this. I knew I had so much emotional baggage that I needed to sort through. So I went to LDS Family services to get help. Back in July my therapist gave me a book. It is called The addiction recovery program. When she handed it to me. My first thought was I don't have any addiction why is she giving me this book. As we talked about it and she told me that Eating disorders is an addiction. She talked about support groups and having me go through the steps. I was over loaded. I just didn't want to admit that I had a problem. So I delayed it focused on some of my other issues.

Last month I had a break through and closed an issue I had for a very long time. I was feeling really good. Towards the end of my session. My therapist said, I have a goal I want you to make. I think you are ready. She said, I want you to walk or run a 5K. I just looked at her in shock. My first thought was I can't do that. We talked about it and she wanted me to make a date and pray about it. I went home feeling really good and knowing that I could do this. I was completely terrified. I thought to myself could I walk a 5K. Well I prayed about it and then decided on the weekend to call my Bonus Mom K to ask her if she could find out when some of the 5K's were happening next year. When I called her she just about did somersaults. She was so excited and said she would find out of me. When I got of the phone I thought WOW she is really excited for me. So I decided to call the rest of my family to tell them. Everyone was so excited for me. This made me feel so good. I was so pumped and ready to do this. My goal that I made was to walk a 5K in Spring. April or May. Since none of the information has posted for the 5K's at that time. I have not set an actual date yet. I think I will head for the Race for the Cure. We will see when time gets closer.

I have been doing some exercise every day. It has been a real struggle to keep myself motivated. I think that Danny is excited for me but I don't know if he really thinks I will go through with it. When I told him I asked him to give me motivation when I am feeling down or wanting to be lazy. He has done good so far. Sometimes we both forget. He has been a good supporter.

I talked with my Doctor this week and he said that keeping up the exercise and doing lots of walking is my best bet. He is happy that I have decided to do something and get myself into shape and get healthy. He wanted me to remember that once my 5K is coming and done I need to make a goal what I am going to go next.

I know that I can do this and I am grateful for the support of my family. I am going to a Eating Disorders support group. My first time was this week. I left the meeting knowing that I can do this and that I am not alone. I look forward to continuing with those meetings.

I know that I will not be able to do this without the Lord. I have been renewed that I need to Trust in the Lord and continue to have faith in myself. I would like continued help and support from my family.

I have a plea. I need some good walking shoes and want everyone to be on the look out for some good shoes for me and any sales that may come up. If anyone would like to donate some money to the purchase of these new shoes. Any help would be appreciated. I have also been thinking of other ways I can get motivated. Couple thoughts I have had is a weight loss program or membership to a gym.

My best friend Kristen has recently told me she got a membership to Gold's gym and she loves going every day. She says it helps with stress and keeping fit. We have talked about it every time we talk.

This has been really hard for me to finally post and admit to the world of my addiction. Thank you everyone for all the support you have given me so far.

Family Movie Night

So last night for our movie night. We watched Night at the Museum. We did not get a chance to see it in the theaters. I was wanting to see it. Danny and the children gave it to me for my birthday.

As we started to watch it. Kara asks. "Mom, Elfee there is an Elfee." I said yes there is an elephant. She then says. "Mommy, what is wrong with the Elfee?" I said It's a statue. Then she says "It's dead mommy." I said yes sweetheart it is dead.

As we continued to watch the movie and the museum comes to life. Kara sees the Elephants and she says "Mommy the Elfee is ok. He is alive." I said yes that is right.

As we watched more of the movie. Christopher every time he would see the T-rex. He would start to growl. Showing us that it was a dinosaur. And when he saw the Lions he did the same. He also loved the monkeys too. And he would say "Eeeeaaaah"

We really enjoyed watching this movie. Danny and I laughed a lot. It was a great movie. When we were done watching, Kara said, "Mommy I want to watch it again."
We certainly had a great time watching this together.
