My family

Christopher is my little bear. He makes me laugh. And I love when he gives me hugs and kisses. He is working hard to talk more. And is learning more things everyday. He enjoys books, superman, cars, and any toy that makes noise.

Danny is the love of my life. He makes me smile everyday. I love to watch him play with the children. He works hard and I appreciate all that he does. He enjoys his comics and action figures. And he loves to see me happy. He is a wonderful husband.

Kara is one girl that makes me smile. No matter how much is acts like me I love her so much. Watching her grow is amazing. The wonderful things she does. She loves school. She loves reading books, painting, putting puzzles together, and drawing. She has loved the snow. She loves to make a snowman.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Today was a great day. I had a wonderful day. Being with family and spending time with my children watching them be so excited for Christmas.

Kara was more aware of Christmas this year. We asked her what she wanted for Christmas. And for a while she wouldn't tell us and then after she had watched a few Christmas shows we asked her again. And she said. "I want Santa to bring me a Teddy Bear."
So that is what we got her. She was so excited. Then when we left to go to Grammy and Grandpa Saxton's she got really upset because she left her Teddy Bear home. So when we got home I was getting her ready for bed and I noticed her Teddy Bear on the floor so I said "Kara, I found your Teddy Bear." She got so excited she gave it a big hug and said Teddy bear. Thank you mommy.

Christopher was so cute today. He was very loving today. This morning he was so excited with his presents he kept giving me hugs. Then we we were at Grammy Saxton's he learned how to go down the stairs on his bum. And every time he would do it he would run over to Grammy and then give her a great big hug and in his own way say hooray. Then when we were at Grandma Jeanne's he kept going over and giving her hugs too. He was very loving with Nik as well. He just had a lot of love to give to everyone today. When we got home tonight he was so tired. He fell asleep at 6:30pm and has slept since. Very tired boy.

Well our Christmas was great and we enjoyed being with everyone. Tonight we watched The Forgotton Carols and just reminded me how important this day was to Jesus Christ. And how remembering why we are here on this earth. To remember that Christ was born on this day. That is the true meaning of Christmas. Always remember.

My Beautiful Kara. Ok so a funny story to tell.

Last Thursday, I had just picked Kara up from school. She was in a really good mood. And excited to be going home. We got in the car. She had earlier that day when going to school brought out a small notepad and pencil to draw. She quickly found it when we were going home. As soon as I got in she asked. "Mommy, what's your problem?" I started to laugh and said well my back is hurting. She then said "Mommy, what's Danny's problem?" I said well he is tired. She then said " What's Christopher's problem?" I said he needs his bottle. By then we were home. As I got her out of the car she said. "Mommy, your back hurt?" I said yes. She said, Kiss it better? I said Yes, thank you.

I was so amazed at how concerned she was for my back. And I thought it hilarous that she had asked me the question in the first place.

That's my supergirl!

Simple Interview

Ok so Lou did this on her blog so I am stealing it.

What are you really good at? Making my Children smile. Kara and Christopher love it when I play with them and make them laugh or smile.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving Food? Mashed Potatoes w/gravy and a big piece of dark meat turkey. Very yummy I must say. I really like Yam with Apples too.

If you could change places with anyone, living or dead, for one day, who would it be? This is hard. Right now in my life. It would have to be the person who makes the decison on who will win the publishers clearing house grand prize of a million dollars. So I could win it and be financial stable.

Would you rather be a little smarter or a little sexier? Well since I am neither I would have to say smarter. I struggled so much in school. It was hard. I even have trouble now. More than most people think.

What are you most proud of? Well there are a couple of things. Going on a mission to Ireland. Best thing I ever did. And then Getting married to my wonderful husband Danny. He brings me so much joy. I am so grateful I have him in my life.

Something on my mind lately is . . .money. What else do I need to say. Well I just don't want to write about it.

Before I die, I'd like to . . .visit Ireland again. To see my friend Ava and to be in the second place I love so much. I miss it everyday.

Grateful Sunday 10/14/2007

Well this has been a week in coming. Last Saturday I was going to write a grateful sunday blog and well here it is.

DREAMS:
Well I am grateful for those fun dreams that come up once in a while. This one is a dream I wish to come true. But I fear it never will. I was staying at a hotel and enjoying myself. And there was a murder committed. I was worried because I knew some people that were involved. As I was talking to them. Angela Lansbury walked in and started talking to one of my friends. I went over and started to talk to her. She asked what had happened. My friend and I told her. As the dream progressed. It was like I was in an episode of Murder, she wrote. Which is one of my favorite shows. At this point I was down in the diner eating some dinner and Angela came in and sat by me and we talked . She was asking me about the murder. And then she had the trigger that always helped her to solve the case. She asked if I could help I was really excited. She solved the case. Later that night I went to her room to talk with her it was really great to talk to her and to experience something so fun.
I know that some dreams never come true. But I am grateful that we can enjoy dreams that we wish were real.

SAVIOR
I am so grateful for my savior Jesus Christ. He has done so much for me. I am so grateful that he loves each of us so much. He made the sacrifice necessary to allow us a way home to our Heavenly Father. I know he lives. I know that he has comforted me in my many times of trial. He gives me strength everyday.

Weight

Yeah! I am excited and happy with myself. I've lost 10 pounds. I've been wondering for a week now. I had my Wic appt. and I thought I will check my weight. And Yeah for me!
My goal is to work at making small goals that I know I can accomplish. So right now my first small goal is to get to my weight before Christopher was born. My ultimate goal is to lose 100 pounds. And I know that as I work on my small goals I will get there.

So I am so excited. That the pig is smiling for me. I thought of you Boog! Silly pig for you my A sister.

Thankful for on Sun. 9/23/07

Ok so I am going to steal Lou's idea just for one Sunday.
By the way Kara picked the picture.

Things I am thankful for this Sunday

My Temple Date:
Yesterday Danny and I went to the temple for my birthday. I told him that was the only thing I wanted. I haven't been to the temple for a while and my recommend was not renewed till this week. Just sitting in the temple and feeling the spirit was so refreshing. Being there and just being away from the world and not have a care. It was so nice. Having time with Danny and to renew our bond was nice. Just being with him and to snuggle is the best.

Books and games:
I know this may sound silly. But reading books and playing games is so relaxing for me. I am reading Eldest the sequel to Eragon and enjoying it. It is so fun to read about the characters and to be so engulfed in the story. I love to put myself in the story as if I am watching as a ghost.
I have also been playing uno, skipbo, uno freefall, brain age, star wars II, and Superman on my nintendo ds. I stay up and work til about 11 pm and when I go to bed most of the time I am tired but can't sleep. So I play one of my games. I am then ready to sleep. I have always enjoyed playing games and love to do so when I have people to play. When I was still living at home before I got married Amy and I would play uno on most every Sunday afternoon. Some time we would trade candy to whom ever won. I would always get the bag of what we called the yucky jelly beans. They were the ones no one wanted to eat. I miss that.

Life:
I am grateful to be alive. I struggle everyday with the thought that because of my weight, I could die earlier than I wish. And to miss my children growing up. I struggle everyday with losing weight as well. Having the power to do it and to keep doing it.

Wish I was here

Ok so I wish I was here. I am not wanting to deal with my life right now. Everything is coming down on me. I feel as though I am being suffocated.

I only wish at this moment that I was a dolphin free to swim the open water. Having one of those bad days. But it feels as though it is a bad day turned into my life.
I thank Heavenly Father that I have the gospel, my children, and reading to get me happiness.

Kara is a Big Girl now!

I am so excited I wanted everyone to know. I have been working really hard with Kara the past couple of days on Potty Training. We watched a movie about it and then the next couple of days we have been having her sit on her little potty. Since she won't sit on the toilet yet. She has had a couple of accidents and she then would ask for a diaper after. So I've been having a hard time with it but tried to be strong for her. Well tonight I asked her if she wanted to sit on the potty and she said yes. We went in there and her Care Bear was still sitting in it so I told her that Care Bear was done going potty and it was her turn to sit on it. She had been sitting on it for about 5 minutes. We brushed her teeth and were getting Christopher's teeth ready to brush and
YEAH! she went potty in her toilet. We had a big party and she was so excited. I helped her clean up and she was so excited that she had gone potty in her toilet.
As a Mother I was so excited to see her grow. My patience paid off. I know that there is alot ahead in helping her and I know that there will be accidents. But I will work through each one. She has taken her 1st big step. And I am ready for what ahead. YEAH!

Birthdays and School

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KARA!
We celebrated Kara's birthday last week. She was really excited. She would tell us that she was 2 and now she is 3 and would show us with her hand. I did get her to say HAPPY CAKE!! But she would mainly say Happy birthday to me. On her birthday we gave her a Harmonica and a Care Bear. She was really excited about the Harmonica. She played it the rest of the night and even slept with it. She has always had a great interest about musical instruments.
We then had a party for her the next night. We went to Riverside park and she wanted a mickey mouse cake and had ice cream. She had Aaron, Katrina, Emma, Leah, Sissy, Valerie, Nik and Lena there. She enjoyed the music and had lots of fun playing at the park.
Well Kara wanted to help me with this blog so the pictures are of things she wants on here.

Ok another big event happened for Kara she started Preschool today. I was able to get her into the 3yr old Preschool at our local elementary. She was very excited. When we got to the school she was excited to see other children there for school too. When I took her into her class room she was excited to be there. They were going to start story time and she was excited to sit on the paper where her name was. When I went to pick her up she did not want to leave. So I know she really enjoyed herself.
Kara wants me to write "Happy Birthday to me to me to you."

Father Fish

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FATHER !!

My Dad is one great guy. Growing up I felt closer to him than anyone. He taught me to be a great person. He guided me when I would fall away. I am grateful I have such a wonderful dad. I always loved going to the dump with him when I was little. It only because it was just the two of us. I loved fishing with him too. Even though we hardly ever caught anything.
My favorite memory I have of my dad growing up is. When I was in young women they were have a Daddy/Daughter date dance. My dad had just had cancer surgery and was recovering. I was sad he was hurting and sad that I may not go. We had to dress up for the dance. So with what little energy dad had he put on his jogging suit and I dressed up as a punk rocker. And he took me to the dance. I am so grateful to my dad for doing that and taking me. I will always cherish the memory.
Now that I am a mom and have children. I am grateful to Dad for being a great Papa. My children love to come see him. I know that Dad loves to be with them too.
I love you Dad and hope your birthday was a fabulous one. XOXOXO

First Step

My Sweet Little Bear took his First step independently. He was just hanging out with me and wanted to see what Kara was doing over on the futon. He stood up and took 4 steps to the futon. I just freeked out and got so excited. Gave him a big hug and kiss. Told him he was a big boy. He got really happy and Kara cheered with me. We then rushed in and told Daddy what he had done. He then throughout the day and he walked some more.

I am happy to report that my doctor said the Christopher is now growing into himself very nicely. When we took him for his 9 month appt. He was 14lbs 5oz. at that point he was in 0% for his age and weight. Last month we visited the nutrition clinic at Primary Childrens Hospital. We were given some great ways to help gain the weight. We also figured out that he has Reflux so he is taking medicine for that. Even though I have been Breastfeeding him exclusively. We realized that he was not getting enough so we are now supplementing with formula. I am happy to say that at his appt. yesterday he is now 18lbs. 6oz. My doctor is so happy to see the large weight gain. And I am happy to say that my Featherboy as Amy calls him is growing.

Just a little note on Kara too. Today Danny and Kara were looking at some of Danny's Transformers and they were talking about them and Kara came out and said "Oh that amazing" Danny was just amazed that she knew that. It was a fun moment for them.

Music

So I have been on a Music obsession the last week. I have always listened to music and I love it. But I just started to crave for more music. Something I can listen to while I am working. I have a few that are my favorites right now. Most of you know that I went through an "Eye of the Tiger" phase. Well I go through phases with any music all the time. Well my Obsession right now is Mika-Life in Cartoon Motion. His music is so great and inspiring. The songs I love the most are Grace Kelly, Love Today, Lollipop, Big Girl (you are beautiful). His music reminds me of a ABBA, BeeGees, Rock all smashed into one. And I love it. My other songs that I am going through a phase with are Sexyback-Justin Timberlake and Candyman-Christina Aguliera. For the past month or so I will go onto the internet on YouTube and I would listen to these songs. Well thanks to my brother I have Mika's cd now and so I can listen to it any time. "Everybodys gonna love today.......any way you want to any way you got to Love Love me, Love Love me. I love that part. Well music is wonderful and makes me so happy. Enjoy your day and listen to one of your favorite songs today. :)

Spiderman 3

Well last night Danny and I went with my work to see Spiderman 3. I have been really excited about this movie for quite some time. I have always like spiderman and knew with this movie that I would really enjoy it.
There are 3 different villians that they had in this movie. There is Venom, The new goblin, and Sandman. I was talking to a friend about it and I had hoped that with 3 villians that the movie would be overload. And that the story wouldn't work. Like they were trying to cram to much into one movie. Well not true. The story lines were great. The movie was steady on the story line.

Venom is Satan in real life. He takes over your body and makes you forget what is important. He feeds off of your hate and anger. He is very selfish and all he does is for the good of him or yourself. Showing how the venom symbiote worked and the struggle Peter went through to see what his actions were doing. Made me think of real life and the struggles we go through everyday. To fight the venoms we have and to conquer them.

I thought that the story about Harry and him being the new goblin. Turns out to be really awesome. The scenes that they have with them in battle are great. I really enjoyed watching those battle scenes.

Sandman just had a rough time. His story is great. To watch when they showed how he turned into the sandman. I my special effects have come a long way. It was so cool. To watch each speck of sand and how they put it together. It was so amazing.

Well I loved this movie so much I wanted to post it so you all could read and get excited to go see it. I didn't want to reveal any details to those who have not seen it yet. But wanted you to be excited about seeing it as I was. I am grateful to my work for letting us see it for FREE!!
Go see it and you won't be disappointed.

To be continued...

I don't know where to start. I have something I need to do. I want to do it. But I am scared. I am afraid of failing. But I need to do it for me and for my children. I've made the first step and now I just need to go for it. I have to remember that if I do fail I need to pick up and try again. Do I want support or will that push me away? People have told me that I will get the support. But I don't want it to be crazy. Can I do this on my own? Well all I can to is start and try.

Easter

Well this Easter was quite fun. We did a lot of things and enjoyed our day. Church was always good. Kara especially loves going to nursery. She is always ready and willing to get ready for church. When we came home we decided to watch a Jesus Christ related movie to think of the real meaning of Easter. My Dad had given us "The Testaments" DVD the night before so we put that in and watched that. It was fun to here my sister Amy high voice in that movie. We then left to make our way to my Mom's for dinner. We made 2 stops before. We saw Grandma Shepard she enjoyed seeing the children. She was so happy we stopped in even if it was only for 10 minutes. We then left and saw Grandma Sonntag she was happy to see us as well. She was surprised to have us there. We stayed 10 minutes there too. But the visit was good for being so short. We then made it to my Mom's for Dinner. We had smoked beef ribs, parmesan potato wedges, and candied carrots. And Grandma Sonntag's famous jello. The food was really good. the ribs had a different taste being smoked but I enjoyed it. After dinner we took these cute pictures of the children. I didn't have a single picture of my children together by themselves. After that we then traveled to see Danny's parents. Mom and Dad Saxton were happy to see the children. After that we finally made it home after nine. It was a wonderful Easter.

Christopher is my cute little bear. That is his nickname. He brings me so much joy and happiness. He got his first tooth on April 5-6th. So he has been a bit of a grouch. When we were shopping for Easter stuff Saturday. I saw this cute outfit and we decided to get it for him. It has a lion on it and says "King of the Jungle". Danny's favorite animal is a lion. So we were very excited. He looks so cute with the hat and cargo pants. I love cargo pants. So my boy will probably have many of them.

Kara is my cute snuggle bear. That is her nickname. Getting her easter dress was loads of fun. I wanted her to pick it out and I wanted it to be what she would be excited about wearing. We were in the store they had 3 dresses in her size so I got all of them out and asked her what one she wanted. We had it down to 2 different ones. One was green and the other pink. I asked her what one she wanted and she picked the pink one. We then go shoes. We had 2 different ones there to one with colorful flowers or one with one white flower. Well she got the colorful flowers one. She even got new tights. She was so excited about her dress and shoes when we got home that night she wanted to wear them right then. I told her tomorrow for church. Well first thing she asked me when she woke up was "Mama, Pretty dress On." Since Easter she has asked to wear it 2 more times I am so glad that she has a pretty dress that she like so much. She loves the shoes too. She has worn those around the house almost every day. And then finds them and wants to put them on again.

I love my children so much they are my biggest joy in life. They bring so much happiness to me.

St. Patrick's Day

Well as most of you know. St. Patricks day is one of my favorite holidays. Even though it is not celebrated as big now. Other than maybe in the pubs. It's reminds me of Ireland and the time I spent there on my mission. I can't believe it is 10 years next month since I will have come home. Our St. Patrick's day this year was a little crazy. Jesse had invited us to scrapbook at her apt. with the family for a couple of hours. Are car the night before was having problems so it was in the shop. By the time we got the car I only spent a 1/2 hr. at Jesse's apt. I did get 2 pages done. Which is good for me. I was all dressed up in my St. Patrick's day outfit. I had my hat, shirt and suspenders. And Kara wore the bobbing headband with shamrocks on it. Later my mom and al had invited us over for dinner. Al was making Irish stew and soda bread. So I was excited. I tryed to get her to make roasties but no luck. The dinner was delicious. Mom wanted me to talk about Ireland but my mind was at a blank that night.

Ireland is a very dear place to me. I hope to go back there someday. I keep in contact with only one person there. I enjoy hearing from her and love to get the occasional package from her. Thankfully we have email. So I hear from her a little more often. There is one time when I was in Ballyclare my last area. Ava took me and my companion to see Belfast castle. It was really cool to go there and to see all the neat things. If I remember correctly. Shortly after we left there they had a bomb threat. We were very thankful that we didn't get caught in that.

There were so many places I did see when I was in Ireland. Waterford was one place I enjoyed as far as the scenery is concerned. We saw Waterford castle, we walked on the beach, and we drove around Cork. I was only there for a month so that is alot to see in such little time. Our apt. was above a pub so we heard the music and dancing every weekend.
My mission was a life changing event for me and I would not be the person I am today. I am so grateful for the people and places I was able to see. Many of my companions taught me alot. Good and Bad. I know that the gospel is true and that sharing that fact with the people of Ireland is a great opportunity. I know that one small day a year to remember that wonderful time I had in Ireland is a great blessing for me.

Mother and me

"There is nothing more beautiful, no picture more lovely, than that of a mother with her daughters."

—Gordon B. Hinckley (Ensign, November 1984, p. 90.)

As I read this thought I was reminded of all the many times that my mom would do things with us when we were young and even now as adults. One thing I have enjoyed recently is small but very fun. My mom works downtown on Thursdays and most of the time when she is finished she will come and visit with me and the family. It's never for very long but that time with her has helped me to get closer with her. My mom and I were not close growing up. I usually tried to get her mad at me or do something to make her mad. Now that I am older and realize that what I was doing was crazy. I am trying to make up for some lost time. I am so grateful for my mom. She has always been a great mom. When I was pregnant with Christopher she came to my house and helped me get things ready and clean up a little to have things ready for a new addition. Thanks mom.

Emotions

I am sitting here thinking about my life as a whole. It is a big roller coaster. Today we finally got our house back into some order. My living room has been housing boxes from a closet that we were cleaning out for my children's bedroom. We got a steal on a new computer for us. We had been saving for just an occasion. So we finally go that put away and ready to go. My children have been sick. Christopher has come down with a cold or something and Kara is just being grouchy. Kara is usually a great sleeper and goes to bed so quickly but not tonight. She has been awake and just struggling to sleep. She sleeps in the same room with Christopher now and she has woken him up twice. She is just struggling. Maybe she is getting sick to and it hasn't manifested it's ugl face yet. I am so grateful for my wonderful chlidren. This experience has reminded me of times that both my children have been to the doctor and needed to have blood drawn and they were troopers. Kara did a children's flu study and they took blood from her for that and she laid there and all she said was "mommy oww" and when they were done she said "I did good." Friday I had to take Christopher to PCMC for some tests and when they drew blood he just sat there and sucked on his bink. The nurse was happy she said that most children would scream and cry. She said that is was very rare that they would have a good child. I was so happy it was mine. I thank Heavenly Father everyday for the wonderful family I have and that they teach and bless me.
